Critic reviews

"The plots are so good that one marvels...most of them would have made a full length thriller." (Daily Mirror)

Joan is Miss Marple

This short, typically Miss Marple case is part of the TNMC. It’s wonderful and a real tribute to the skills of JH and the skills of AC. Wonderful listening to in the car

Joan Hickson could read a dictionaries and make it interesting. Pair her with the wonderful Agatha Christie and you have a match made in heaven.

Miss Marlow at her best

I have loved reading Agatha Christie books since I was at school, and I still do. This is another great short story about the wonderful Miss Marple.

There’s no other Miss Marple

Joan Higson is the definitive Miss Marple, as exemplified here.
She only lets her guard down once - the editors failed to spot the first mention of MM’s village being St. Mary’S Mead and correctly as St. Mary Mead thereafter. But I can forgive Joan Higson anything, there is no other Miss Marple.
Classic Christie plot and I particularly liked the ending,
