Summary

As far as I can tell I don’t have a submissive bone in my body. So why do I like it so much when Marshall calls me his good puppy?

I’ve made some impulsive decisions in my life, but signing a contract with the K Boys to shoot an Introduction to Kink series may have been the biggest impulse ever. Sure, the intimate part of it doesn’t faze me, but the rest is way more intense than I had expected.

Luckily, there’s Marshall, the consultant who oversees all the shoots. He’s so calm and steady, and he’s there for me when I panic. That doesn’t mean I suddenly like being tied up or something...until Marshall introduces me to puppy play. I want to be his good puppy...and much more because it’s hard not to fall for him.

But I still have a contract. I don’t want to disappoint my boss, and I need the money.

This isn’t a long-term career plan, Marshall is only temporarily in Vegas, and I may have made the biggest mistake of my life...or have I?

Ziggy is a low-angst MM romance that shows a variety of mild kink, including puppy play. It’s the second book in the K Boys series and can be listened to as a stand-alone, though it’s more fun to listen to the books in order.

Held my interest

The second book in the Kinky Boys series is different again and certainly my interest is being held. This book explores some different sides to BDSM and shows how one size definitely doesn't fit all. The progression from Ziggy not knowing if he is at all submissive to the joyfulness and exuberance of puppy play makes a lovely read.

As always, Kenneth Obi did a great job of bringing both Ziggy and Marshall to life.

Conflicting feelings about this book - spoilers!

I usually enjoy books by these two authors, but this one didn't hit the mark for me, mostly due to aspects of the storyline. Ziggy's experience with puppy play is sweetly portrayed for the most part, but I found his connection to the Kinky Boy studio and his lack of awareness of what he was signing up to to be pretty unsettling. Given that the whole premise of the studio was to portray link in a responsible way, to have the owner hire someone inexperienced without making sure they understood the basics of the kink scene and dynamics, or what they were agreeing to, just felt irresponsible to me, and really took me out of the story.
And for someone with no experience to just magically dive into a kink like puppy play with no questions or issues, and just know what to do, when all his previous experiences involved lots of questions and some research, seemed pretty unrealistic.
I guess at the end of the day, this felt like a bunch of tropes and some basic kink research mashed together into a book, with not particularly satisfying results, at least for myself. Yes, it's a novel, and a fantasy, but given the quality of previous books, especially the first in this particular series ( which is amazing!), I felt let down. Glam was the best character in this book, and he was only in it for a few minutes!
The narrator is awesome, and is what kept me going through this book.
