Summary
It’s just pretend...but nobody wants to stop.
Maxie’s quiet, predictable routine is shattered when she steps outside her flower shop and almost runs into two women. It’s not the near collision that’s startling. It’s the strangers’ faces. It’s like looking in a mirror times two, and it sends her into a dead faint.
Sheriff Zac Ford sees three identical copies of the woman who’s caused him more sleepless nights than he can count, and it stops him in his tracks. Maxie’s buckling knees snap him out of his trance, and he catches her before she hits the cement.
Two sisters she never knew she had? Maxie can’t deal with this turmoil, not on her own. She needs a shield, a rock. For the first time in her life, she takes a wild leap of faith.
When Maxie calls him her boyfriend, Zac has no trouble playing along. It’ll give him time to figure out what these “sisters” want. Soon, though, for-show kisses get hotter and playacting touches grow bold. And Maxie must choose to stay in her safe little world, or grab life by the horns.

Fun and adorable
This is a sweet small town romance with a delightfully silly and fun premise – a timid young woman discovers that not only is she adopted but she’s one of a set of identical triplets separated in their early childhood. It doesn't stop there, oh no, Maxie and Zac then fake being in a relationship for... reasons... while both secretly pining for each other.
Maxie is a sweet woman who’s frustrated by her own shyness and reluctance to do anything new, even though she secretly craves a bit of adventure. Adventure like the Sherriff Zac…
When fate/the surprise appearance of two clones of herself intervenes, she finds herself being bold and getting closer to him.
Sherriff Zac is equally adorable, he’s too shy to approach her at first and finds it difficult to communicate with her because of the amount of things she leaves unsaid, resulting in some classic miscommunication.
The story is low on conflict and high on sweet, sweet romance which is just what I needed!
I also loved the narrator’s voice in this audiobook, it's distinctive and held my attention. Kurz read the POV of both Maxie and Zac, bringing them both to life with their own distinct voices – I’m definitely going to be adding her to the autobuy list.
I should note – this book is the second in a series, each of the sisters has her own book and it appears that the characters are developed along the way, with their own distinct personalities and very different back stories. I didn’t know this ahead of time but it works seamlessly as a standalone, though it leaves me wanting to read the rest of the series so I don’t miss anything.

Sweet and Sexy!!
This is my first book by Kimberly Dean and the second book in the series, though I did not feel like I had to read the first book to understand and enjoy this audiobook. That said, I wish I had read/heard the first book because this book was loads of fun.
There were once a set of identical triplets who were separated at the age of 2. One went into the foster care system, one was adopted by a wealthy family and one was adopted by a loving couple who eventually died leaving her to her grandmother. She had no idea she was adopted but always felt incomplete, timid and insecure. The first two sisters accidentally find each other (in the previous book) which leads them to their third sister. This is her story. And what a story!
This audiobook is sweet and very sexy. It is such a quick and easy listen. The relationship between Maxie and her Sheriff is really delightful too. Obviously with this plot there is an important backstory in play. I really appreciate how KImberly Dean manages to weave the background details into the story without disrupting the flow of what is happening.
The relationship between Maxie and Sheriff Zac achieves its HEA but the reader is left with a little tease of more to come. I cannot wait to read/listen to the next book!
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review

Sweet and Sexy Book2
Book 2 of the Triple X series continues the story from Lexie, where Lexie and Roxie meet. The discovery that the twins are in fact triplets, leads them to find Maxie, the third of the trio (who has no idea she is adopted). This is Maxie’s story.
It begins with her crippling shyness being slowly stripped away by the local sheriff who, after fancying her from a distance for months, finds himself agreeing to pretend to be her boyfriend, and eventually becomes her all-consuming love object. The discovery of her birth sisters, especially Roxie’s influence, also aids Maxie’s self-confidence and she truly blossoms. The character building in this book is quite impressive.
As with book 1 (Lexie) this is an enjoyable, rounded story – another one I would peg for reading on the beach on a lovely sunny afternoon – basically a romance with a bit more depth than normal. The characters of Lexie and Roxie are continually developed throughout this second novel and Sheriff Zac is a much better developed character than Cam in Book 1 (hotter too!). All in all this book is a delight and develops the back story of the triplet’s quest to find their birth parents (albeit slowly).
Obviously to find out if they do, or do not, discover the reasons why they were put up for adoption and eventually split up, I will have to read book 3 and that is exactly what I will be doing next.
As a footnote – I received this book as an audio book arc in return for an honest opinion so I can’t go without mentioning the narrator of this book – her voice acting was good, pronunciation clear and made the listening very easy on my ears. It was a very enjoyable listen. So thanks!
